Recalling his days in jail, he stated that his spouse Sunita, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his ministers used to go to him.

He stated, “Whereas in jail, I used to ask my ministers concerning the welfare of the folks. Whereas in jail, I used to suppose that it was my fault that I used to be arrested. My mistake was that I supplied good faculties and hospitals to the folks. I supplied well being services to the folks. They (BJP) stopped my insulin for 15 days in jail.
