Rivers The state has been witnessing a period of political violence since the assembly election results. Fearing an attack from the ruling party, 40-50 families have left their homes from Udaiganj under Kalna police station in Burdwan district to take shelter in Gyanpur of Shantipur police station in Nadia district. He claims that all the families are supporters of the BJP. Ever since the declaration of the result, people of the ruling party have been creating ruckus by entering the village. They are threatening to play fiercely by going door-to-door for the BJP workers. They allege that in order to carry out any major untoward incident, the people who had created a ruckus had laid siege to the BJP affected zone all night. On getting a chance at three o’clock in the night, he left his house, cattle, grain and everything, and escaped from the village. Poornima Sarkar, the woman who ran away with the child in her lap, told that Trinamool goons started an uproar from 8 o’clock last night. The bike parked outside the house, the tractor was smashed with sticks. The men who came in front were beaten up. The young women were threatened in the open field and played fiercely all night. All of them have run away fearing that the girls were grabbed and pulled for the purpose of being picked up. Karthik Chandra Mallick alleges that Kalna police station was called several times during the commotion but the phone was not picked up from the other side. Pankaj Mallik, another BJP worker, has been accused of looting the house of BJP workers in his village since morning, some villagers who have supported him have given this information by phone.
