Chip maker Intel on Friday mentioned it can make investments greater than $20 billion to construct two new factories within the US for superior chipmaking, because the world grapples with a semiconductor scarcity. The preliminary part of the challenge in New Albany, close to Columbus, Ohio, is predicted to create 3,000 intel jobs and seven,000 building jobs throughout building and assist hundreds of extra native long-term jobs throughout a broader ecosystem.
“Intel’s actions will help build a more resilient supply chain and ensure reliable access to advanced semiconductors for years to come,” mentioned Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger.
“These factories will create a new epicenter for advanced chipmaking in the US, bolstering Intel’s domestic lab-to-fab pipeline and reinforcing Ohio’s leadership in research and high-tech,” he mentioned.
