A batch of more than 6,000 passengers leaves from Jammu for Amarnath Yatra

Jammu: A batch of 6,113 pilgrims, together with 1,292 ladies, left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp right here on Saturday amid tight safety to go to the holy Amarnath cave shrine situated at an altitude of three,880 meters within the Himalayas of south Kashmir. Officers gave this info.
The pilgrims, together with 195 sadhus and 25 youngsters, will attain the bottom camps at Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district on Saturday itself.

To this point, greater than 20,000 devotees have visited the naturally fashioned Him Shivling. This 43-day journey began on 30 June. Within the contemporary batch that left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp, 4,173 pilgrims left for Pahalgam base camp in 148 autos, whereas one other 1,940 pilgrims left for the Baltal route in 80 autos, officers stated. With this, 23,214 passengers have left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp for the valley since June 29. This yatra will finish on August 11, on the event of Shravan Purnima, the day of Raksha Bandhan.
