International Desk. After Mehul Choksi, another fugitive diamond trader of India Nirav Modi has also got a big setback. The UK High Court on Wednesday rejected Nirav Modi’s application to appeal against extradition to India. In this way Nirav Modi has lagged behind in his fight to stop extradition in UK court.

It is being told in media reports that now the diamond trader has only five days left to file a fresh appeal. There is an opportunity to file a fresh appeal application, on which the judge can decide whether the case can be heard in full appeal.

Significantly, both Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi are allies. The duo is accused of allegedly defrauding PNB to the tune of Rs 13,500 crore in connivance with some bank officials. While Nirav Modi is in jail in London, Choksi is in the custody of Caribbean country Dominica.
