All India Medical Admission: 27% reservation for OBCs

Within the all-India quota of medical and dental undergraduate and postgraduate programs, 27 per cent has been reserved for the OBC part and 10 per cent for the financially backward (EWS). Reservation will likely be allowed for MBBS, MD, MS, Diploma, BDS and MDS programs from 2021–2022. The choice will profit 5500 college students.

The reservation profit will likely be obtainable for 1500 OBC college students in MBBS and 2500 college students in PG programs. The reservation will likely be for 500 MBBS college students and 1000 college students in PW programs. In 2007, the Supreme Court docket ordered reservation of 15 per cent for Scheduled Castes and seven.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribes.

The All India Quota for Medical Admissions was launched in 1986 as per the instructions of the Supreme Court docket.
