America: Three eagles died after eating toxic dead animals, 10 sick

Inver Grove Heights (US): At the least 13 ‘bald hawks’ fell ailing and three of them died after consuming poisoned animals in Minnesota, US. These lifeless animals had been improperly dumped at a dumpster in Minnesota.

Federal wildlife officers are investigating after the hawks had been discovered close to the Pine Bend landfill within the Inver Grove Heights suburb of Minneapolis this month, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reviews. Of those, 10 eagles are admitted to the University of Minnesota Raptor Heart. Victoria Corridor, the centre’s government director, mentioned she hoped the birds would make a speedy restoration.

Corridor mentioned the eagles had been discovered unconscious and Raptor Heart personnel didn’t know they had been alive. Veterinarians suspect that the eagles that died ate carcasses that had been drugged with pentobarbital, and investigators confirmed that the animals had been dumped within the landfill on 2 December.
