Army trains Assam police new recruits to strengthen forces


Guwahati: In a bid to strengthen the Assam police forces, the Indian Military is imparting coaching to the 2700-odd new recruits in a 40-week programme.

Defense PRO, Lt Col Mahendra Rawat advised IANS that the coaching below the Indian Military commenced earlier this week at seven places in Assam and Meghalaya. The coaching shall be performed in two phases – primary and superior. The main focus of primary army coaching is to make the trainees stronger each mentally and bodily.

“In the advanced phase, trainees will be taught tactical combat skills as well as various policing aspects related to maintenance of law-and-order situations,” he added.

The Military spokesperson talked about that the Assam police have been working collectively with the Indian Military to carry peace to the Northeast area because the 90s. These joint operations have performed a significant function in bringing normalcy to a really massive extent within the state.

Just lately, the Assam authorities has recruited round 2,700 entrants, together with greater than 300 girls, and raised 5 new commando battalions to strengthen the police forces.

Rawat mentioned that the Indian Military has prolonged its help to coach Assam police commando battalion trainees. This initiative will improve synergy and functionality to undertake joint operations between the state and armed forces.
