Chandigarh, | Leader of Opposition in Punjab Partap Singh Bajwa has appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to vary the paddy transplanting schedule from June 10 as a substitute of 18 in Majha and Doaba areas.
Shri Bajwa has made this demand by writing a letter to the Chief Minister. He has written within the letter that within the notification issued on May 6 by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Division of the federal government, a program has been given for the transplanting of paddy.
Transplanting is to begin from June 18 in Sangrur, Barnala, Malerkotla, Ludhiana, Patiala and Sri Fatehgarhsaheb and it’s to finish on June 26 together with Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Tarn Taran. In line with Mr. Bajwa, since Majha area is adjoining to Shivalik hills, attributable to this temperature and dew have an effect on the maturation cycle of paddy within the space. Crops ripen slowly.
Attributable to eight days late transplanting in Majha, there will likely be delay within the ripening of the crop and there will likely be moisture within the crop, which can even have an effect on the advertising and marketing of paddy within the state’s market. In line with Mr. Bajwa, attributable to delayed paddy transplantation, there can even be a lower within the crop manufacturing of the farmers in Majha and Doaba areas, so he requests the Chief Minister to assessment this system and permit the farmers of Majha and Doaba to transplant from June 10. As a result of the delay will have an effect on the revenue of the farmers and improve the financial disaster.
