Big money hunt in Melattur; Two arrested for embezzling Rs 1 crore

Melatuur: Two individuals have been arrested in Melatuur for embezzling Rs 1 crore and three lakh. Malayil Mohammad (54) and Nottanthodika Rahim (42), residents of Poolapoyil, Mukkam, Kozhikode, had been arrested throughout a search of a car by Melattur Station Home Officer CS Sharon and his workforce on a tip-off.

The suspects had been nabbed by the police on a tip-off that cash was being smuggled from Coimbatore to Kozhikode district. The automobile was taken into custody underneath suspicious circumstances throughout a search of a car at Melattur Ucharakkadavu round 12 on Tuesday night time. A search of the car on the station turned up Rs 1 crore and Rs 3 lakh of Rs 500 saved in a secret compartment in the back and front of the car.

After questioning the accused, the police discovered that the cash was being smuggled from Coimbatore to Kozhikode district. The automobile and cash taken into custody had been produced within the Perinthalmanna courtroom. The suspects had been nabbed by a workforce comprising Station Home Officer CS Sharon and ASI Moyteen Kutty and Senior Civil Police Officer Razak.
