BJP workers staged a sit-in at the police station demanding the arrest of Mahua Moitra

Kolkata: The Mahila Morcha of the BJP in West Bengal on Saturday staged a sit-in in entrance of Bahubazar police station right here and demanded the arrest of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra for her alleged derogatory remarks on Goddess Kali. BJP Mahila Morcha members mentioned that the police didn’t take any cognizance of their criticism lodged on July 6.

A Mahila Morcha chief mentioned, “Neither was any effort nor any action taken to arrest Mohua Moitra. No FIR number has also been shared after our complaint. State President of Mahila Morcha Tanuja Chakraborty said that the protest lasted for about an hour. Another leader of the Morcha accused the police of adopting double standards, saying that the police sent several summons to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma but “put Moitra’s case in chilly storage”.
