Broken relationships do not fall in the category of instigating suicide: Supreme Court's big decision
The Supreme Courtroom on Friday stated damaged relationships are emotionally painful and if there is no such thing as a intention to abet suicide, it doesn’t mechanically quantity to the crime of abetment.
A bench of Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan made this remark in a judgment.
The apex courtroom overturned the Karnataka Excessive Courtroom verdict which had convicted Kamaruddin Dastagir Sanadi for the offenses of dishonest and abetment of suicide below the Indian Penal Code (IPC). “This is a case of a broken relationship, not criminal conduct,” the judgment stated.
Sanadi was initially charged below IPC sections 417 (dishonest), 306 (abetment of suicide) and 376 (rape).
