Buddha Amarnath Yatra begins, more than 1000 pilgrims leave from Jammu

JAMMU: The primary batch of 1056 pilgrims for the Buddha Amarnath Yatra in Poonch, left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Friday. Police gave this info. Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Extra Director General of Police Mukesh Singh began the pilgrimage by sending off the primary batch. Leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and different organizations had been current on this event. The Buddha Amarnath Yatra, suspended because of the Corona epidemic, has began after two years.

A police officer stated, “This journey to Budha Amarnath, located amidst the Mandi hills of Poonch district, has began from Jammu. The primary batch left from Jammu this morning. The yatra will culminate on August 8 with the departure of ‘Chadi Mubarak’ from Shri Dashnam Akhara temple in Poonch. Devoted to Lord Shiva, Baba Budha Amarnath Temple is also called ‘Rocky Baba Amarnath Temple’. It’s located at a distance of about 290 km to the north-west of Jammu. In response to officers, multi-layered safety of its route has been ensured for the profitable conduct of the yatra.
