Center bans ‘Tehreek-e-Hurriyat’, accuses the organization of being involved in activities related to separation of Kashmir from India

The Central Authorities has banned ‘Tehreek-e-Hurriyat’ of Jammu and Kashmir. On this regard, Home Minister Amit Shah posted on Twitter, “Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir (TeH) has been declared an ‘unlawful association’ under UAPA. This organization is involved in prohibited activities to separate Jammu and Kashmir from India and establish Islamic rule. He has been found spreading anti-India propaganda and continuing terrorist activities to promote separatism in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Home Minister Shah additional stated, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, if any person or organization is involved in anti-India activity, it will be immediately foiled. Modi government has continuously taken action against separatist organizations to eliminate terrorism from the valley. “This is the most recent step taken in that direction.”

Earlier on December 27, the Central Authorities had declared Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masrat Alam faction) as a banned terrorist group. The chief of this group, Masarat Alam Bhat, was accused of operating an anti-India agenda. There have been additionally allegations of actions within the valley in help of Pakistan.
