Central Vaccine Policy: Protesting Homes

Kerala warns against backyard anti-people central vaccine policy Millions rallied in line with Kovid standards in the LDF-organized housing strike. Backyards, party offices, libraries and cultural centers became centers of struggle.

Families lined up in front of houses in protest from 5.30pm to 6pm. Placards and posters were hoisted calling for universal and free distribution of vaccines, amending the central policy of making the crisis-ridden states more vulnerable in Kovil, and using the PM Care Fund to ensure free vaccines. The protest also went viral on social media.

The protest was led by politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai, state secretariat members Ananthalawattam Anandan and KN Balagopal at the AKG Center. State Secretary Kanam Rajendran, Central Control Commission Chairman Pannyan Raveendran and State Assistant Secretary K Prakash Babu were present at the MN Memorial, the CPI headquarters. CPI (M) politburo member MA Baby and his family took part in the strike at the Thrissur district committee office. A Vijayaraghavan, the acting state secretary of the CPI (M), took part in the strike at his home in Thrissur.
