In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, two law enforcement officials had been held hostage by shopkeepers whereas making an attempt to extort bribes. Shopkeepers arrested Sub-Inspector Satyendra and Trainee Sub-Inspector Shivam on Saturday evening for asking for cash and beating them up in Govindpuri underneath Parikshitgarh Police Station.
After studying concerning the incident, a big contingent of police reached the spot and there was a tense state of affairs.
Native residents who shouted on the police mentioned that these officers usually threatened the shopkeepers and extorted cash. Though each had been launched, a case was registered in opposition to the 2 law enforcement officials on the criticism of the villagers.
