The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Kavita on March 15 in a cash laundering case associated to the alleged Delhi Excise Coverage rip-off. Kavita was detained by the CBI beneath prices of prison conspiracy and manipulation of accounts and a few sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. CBI has arrested Kavita beneath IPC part 120-B (prison conspiracy) together with part 477-A (falsification of accounts) and part 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (offences regarding giving bribe to a public servant).

CBI interrogated in jail

Earlier, after taking permission from the particular courtroom, CBI had interrogated Kavita contained in the jail on Saturday. The BRS chief was questioned about WhatsApp chats and paperwork associated to a land deal recovered from the cellphone of Buchi Babu, a co-accused within the case. It’s alleged that Rs 100 crore was given as bribe to the Aam Aadmi Party for the alleged change in excise coverage.

Kavita shall be interrogated at CBI headquarters

Central investigating company CBI has bought Kavita's remand. CBI will now take Kavita to the lockup at its headquarters and interrogate her. Earlier, ED had arrested Ok Kavitha from her residence in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
