Delhi fails to curb oxygen black market; High Court criticizes

New Delhi
The Delhi High Court has ruled that the government system has completely failed to curb the sale of oxygen and drugs on the black market. The bench comprising Justices Vipin Sankhi and Rekhapali pointed out that medical oxygen was being sold on the black market for tens of thousands and lakhs of rupees due to the complete failure of the government system.

‘There has been a huge increase in the number of Kovid cases in Delhi. Things have gone beyond what you can handle ‘- the judges observed. The court considered petitions filed by private hospitals seeking immediate intervention to address the oxygen shortage.

‘Those who are supposed to supply oxygen should be prosecuted if they do not do so despite receiving proper notifications. If anyone does not cooperate, they should be informed. The court will decide what action should be taken against them, ”the judges added.
