Delhi Mayor Election: The Aam Aadmi Party-led (AAP) Delhi authorities has urged three dates i.e. 3, 4 and 6 February for the election of the mayor and has requested Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to decide on one in all them. Earlier, the date for holding the elections was January 24 after L-G Saxena gave permission to convene a gathering of councilors of town’s unified civic physique. The MCD had initially proposed January 30 because the date for holding the mayoral elections within the nationwide capital.

However Presiding Officer Satya Sharma administered the oath to the newly nominated members by L-G Saxena at MCD Home. After the swearing-in ceremony, when the voting course of for the Mayor’s election was about to start, AAP councilor Mukesh Goyal objected that the nominated members would not have the correct to vote within the Mayor’s election.
