Delhi riots: CPI (M) still in tears

The ‘media”s attempt to discredit the CPI (M), which is carrying out sustainable relief and rehabilitation work to help the victims of the North East Delhi riots. The shooting comes as the Youth League is embroiled in a Katwa fund fraud case. The ‘Media One’ channel also took over the news published under the misleading headline.

The CPI (M) has been assisting the riot-hit areas across the community. The relief operation, which began on March 1, shortly after the riots subsided, is not over. In the first phase, food items, utensils, clothing, medicine and legal aid were provided. 6,130 people from 1,126 families were directly assisted. Helping door-to-door helped build people’s confidence. More than 100 families were provided with gas cylinders and stoves. A legal aid team has been formed under the leadership of the All India Lawyers’ Union.

Rs 1 lakh each was given to the families of the 54 killed. Aid of Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 was provided to the injured. Relief efforts continued at Kovid Lockdown. 2,100 people were regularly provided with food items. Distributed wheelbarrows to 50 people and sewing machines to women. Helped to start shops. Rs.2,000 / – and educational materials are distributed to 52 children every three months for education.

Teachers were assigned to help the children. Work is in progress to establish a center for vocational skills development of youth, including girls.
