In Bihar, there has been a large increase in the number of corona infections on Tuesday as compared to Monday. In the state on Tuesday, 14,794 new corona infections have been identified in the last 24 hours, while a record 105 infected people died during this period. On Monday, 11,407 corona infections were reported in the state, while 82 were killed.
Among the corona infects found on Tuesday in the state, Patna had the highest number of 2,681 new infections. More than five hundred new infected were found in seven districts including Patna. 534 new infections have been found in Aurangabad, 767 in Gaya, 538 in Jamui, 637 in Vaishali, 618 in Nalanda and 516 in West Champaran. With this, the number of active patients in the state has reached 1,10,430. In the last 24 hours, 94,891 samples were corona tested in the state.
An official of the Bihar State Health Department said that in the last 24 hours, the maximum number of 105 corona infected have died. So far 2,926 corona infectives have died in the state. During the last 24 hours, 11,926 infected infections have been eradicated from the corona. The state recorded a recovery rate of 78.36 percent.
Meanwhile, the government has announced a lockdown from Wednesday to May 15 in view of the increasing cases of corona. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar tweeted from his official Twitter handle, writing, “After a discussion with associate ministers and officials yesterday (Monday), it has been decided to implement the lockdown in Bihar by May 15, 2021 for the present.” After this, the Home Department has also issued a guideline regarding the lockdown.
