The Electricity Regulatory Fee has authorized short-term contracts to buy between 200 and 695 MW of energy per thirty days at low charges for six months. Low cost electrical energy is offered from October to February and April. In keeping with the contract, electrical energy can be bought from varied organizations each month. In October, 325 MW will be bought from 4 companies at a charge of Rs 6.09-6.10 per unit. In November, 400 MW will be bought from 5 corporations at a charge of Rs 5.45-5.69 and in December, 400 MW will be bought from 5 corporations at a charge of Rs 5.45-5.69.

In January 2025, KSEB was given permission to purchase 400 MW from 4 companies at a charge of Rs 5.69-5.72, in February 200 MW from three companies at a charge of Rs 5.87-5.88 and in April 695 MW from 4 corporations at a charge of Rs 6.24-7.23. KSEB knowledgeable the fee that there can be a discount of as much as 24.8 p.c in electrical energy availability in April.

The present charge will proceed until October
The State Electricity Regulatory Fee has ordered the continuation of present electrical energy charges until October 31 because it wants a couple of extra weeks to finish the electrical energy tariff revision course of. The current tariff is efficient from November 1, 2023. It expired on June 30.
