Former Pakistan Foreign Minister’s son accused of buying votes

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s PP 217 District Surveillance Officer Haider Riaz has filed a grievance in opposition to former Overseas Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) candidate Zain Qureshi for his involvement in corrupt practices within the by-elections in UC-44 Multan. Inquiry has been ordered.

The inquiry was ordered following a grievance obtained from social media, which states that Jain Qureshi is providing a brand new motorbike to each voter who will get ten votes in his favour. The inquiry letter states that such conduct is taken into account corrupt observe and Article 218(3) of the Structure of Pakistan empowers the Election Fee to guard them. Sadar Assistant Commissioner and DRTA Secretary, Multan will examine the matter.
