Former Vadakara Municipal Corporation chairman TP Chandran has passed away

Vadakara: Former Vadakara Municipal Corporation chairman Puthuppanam Manikampath TP Chandran (72) has passed away. He died at a private hospital in Kozhikode on Friday morning.

He was a member of the CPI (M) Vadakara Town Local Committee and a member of the Vadakara Merchant Co-operative Society. He was one of the founders of the Vadakara Merchant Industrialist Committee and the oat and timber trader of Karimpanapalam. He has served as Municipal Councilor three times.

TP Chandran, who entered politics through KSYF, was an active participant in political and cultural events till his last days. As the Chairman of the Corporation, he has been at the forefront of bringing many developments in Vadakara.

Wife: Susheela. Children: Shaneesh (Unni Karimpanapalam), Shaina, Shajina (Teacher Memunda Higher Secondary School), Shaji (Gulf). Son-in-law: Biju (Chairman, Vadakara Municipal Corporation Standing Committee), Sanoop (Kannur), Abhina and Kavya. Siblings: Shashindran (ULCC), Surendran (wood dealer), the late Prakashan.
