The nation’s Power Minister Kanchana Wijesekera on Sunday stated that with restricted inventory of gas accessible within the nation, gas stations throughout the nation will difficulty oil to shoppers by way of tokens from Monday and sought the assistance of the military and police for this.

Talking to reporters in Colombo, Power Minister Wijesekera stated that the general public can be given token numbers to fill petrol and diesel, because the gas is obtainable solely in restricted portions, Xinhua information company reported. Wijesekera requested the general public to register their cell numbers on the nearest filling stations in order that they are often knowledgeable.

A day earlier, the Power Minister had introduced that the nation wouldn’t get the consignment of petrol, diesel and crude oil scheduled for this week and subsequent week. The minister stated the suppliers have knowledgeable state-owned gas importer and distributor Ceylon Petroleum Company (CPC) that they won’t make scheduled deliveries as a result of banking and logistical causes.
