Former Vice President Hamid Ansari has ‘counterattacked’ the BJP which has leveled allegations in opposition to him. In a signed assertion, Ansari stated that false allegations have been being leveled in opposition to him in some sections of the media and by the official spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Former Vice President Hamid Ansari has ‘counterattacked’ the BJP which has leveled allegations in opposition to him. In a signed assertion, Ansari stated that false allegations have been being leveled in opposition to him in some sections of the media and by the official spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Responding to BJP’s allegation, former Vice President Ansari stated that overseas company are invited to any program of the Vice President after the recommendation of the federal government. International company are invited by the Ministry of Exterior Affairs.

Hamid Ansari has stated that he by no means met Mirza. Ansari stated in his assertion, “I inaugurated the ‘International Conference of Jurists on International Terrorism and Moon Rights’ on December 11, 2010. Usually the list of guests in such conferences is prepared by the organizers. I have never met Mirza. Didn’t call nor met him.”

Responding to the allegations, Ansari stated, “It is a known fact that invitations to foreign dignitaries by the Vice President are sent on the advice of the government, usually through the Ministry of External Affairs.”

He additional stated, “Allegations are being made against me that I had met him at a conference on terrorism and while India’s ambassador to Iran. It is also being alleged that I betrayed national security. But here I want to make it clear that neither I have met Mirza nor I have called her.”

The previous Vice President stated, “The work of India’s ambassador to Iran has been in the knowledge of the government. I am committed to the security of the country and always keep myself away from making statements on it. The Government of India has all the information and Only she can tell the truth. My tenure in Iran is on record. After this I was made a permanent member of India in the United Nations in New York. My work has been appreciated in the country and the world.”
