The latest news is coming from Maharashtra, where the government’s minority department is keeping an eye on university land. Maharashtra Minority Welfare Minister Nawab Malik said hostels would be set up for minorities on all university campuses in Maharashtra.
This program has been started from Nagpur. A sum of Tk 1.72 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a hostel for minorities at the premises of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University in Nagpur. Nawab Malik said it was a great center of learning. Boys and girls from both urban and rural areas come here to pursue higher education.
Nawab Malik said those who come from the villages to receive education have to face many problems. This is why hostels are being built. This hostel can accommodate 200 people. Notably, only boys and girls from minority communities will have access to this hostel. Maharashtra’s Minority Welfare Ministry has started construction of hostels for minority communities in 23 districts of the state.
