Aluva : Unlawful sand mining group arrested in Puthanvelikara. Six boats have been taken into custody.
Mattummel Vinoj (47) in Perumpadanna who was sweeping sand, Abdul Salam (62) in Edavilang Poilingal, James (62) in Chalakkal Vitayam, Santhosh (48) in Kunnukara Kallumadaparam, Sabu (52) in Edawana, Cheekoth Babu (53) in Azhikot, Cheradi Shaji (60) in Kottuvallikad. , Chettikkad East Nippura Seinan (54 ), Madaplathi Thurut Velikakakat Thambi (57), Kandankulam Kollam Param Jayanandan (53), Kalikkat Unnikrishnan (51), Tayil Unni (45), Kurumbathurut Olattuparam Prajosh (35), Perangedam Sudheesh (36), Moothakunam Mathasheri Siva Prasad (52), Gothurut Pandipilli Thomas (63), Chendamangalam Irunulil Vincent (51) and Chendamangalam Thuithara Sudhi (44) have been arrested by Puthanvelikara police.
The unlawful sand mining gang was caught from Vellotupuram and Kurishingal jetties in Periyar. The inspection began at 10 pm on the 14th and continued until morning. When the police got here to verify, the group tried to flee by pushing the sand barge and was caught after chasing them in a ship. Instruments used for sand elimination have been additionally seized.
