In Kanjirapally, the vote went to the Congress; Kannanthanam’s complaint to the leadership

Kottayam: In Kanjirapally, one of the important constituencies of the BJP, more than 2000 votes have gone to the Congress, says Alphonse Kannanthanam. Alphonse Kannanthanam, who was a candidate in Kottayam, had lodged a complaint with the state leadership exposing the sale when the fact that the BJP lost nearly one lakh votes in various constituencies in Kottayam was controversial. The complaint alleges that the BJP gave votes to the Congress. He said he would not compete but stopped and lost. This is a drop of more than 2,000 votes from 2016. Kannanthanam estimates that more than 10,000 votes were cast in person.

The fact that he was a former MLA in the constituency and personal relationships made him hopeful of winning. That is why Kanjirapally was included in the BJP’s A class list. When the result came, the BJP came in third. Alphonse Kannanthanam received 29,157 votes. This is up from 31,411 votes in 2016. The BJP got 36,628 votes in the Lok Sabha elections. With the influential church, even the Chirakkadavu panchayats could not take the lead. The complaint alleges that despite the money being delivered to the constituency, no significant campaign took place. It may also inform the central leadership.
