In Meghalaya too, the Congress went to the Opposition

In Meghalaya, 11 out of 17 Congress MLAs have joined the Trinamool Congress led by former chief minister Mukul Sangma. With this, the Congress misplaced its principal opposition place. They wrote a letter to Speaker Methba Lindok saying they’d joined the Trinamool.

Mukul Sangma and others left the celebration after Sonia Gandhi’s confidant Vincent Pala was appointed because the Meghalaya PCC president. Sangma held talks with political strategist Prashant Kishore in Kolkata. The Trinamool is attempting to oust Congress leaders in Assam, Goa, Haryana, UP, Bihar and Tripura.
