Indian Library Congress gets off to a flying start


The First Indian Library Congress acquired off to a grand begin in Kannur. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Collectorate on the important stage in Maidani. About 3,000 delegates from totally different elements of the nation are collaborating within the three-day Congress.

Chairman of the organizing committee Dr. V Shivdasan MP presided. The record of 102 newly established libraries in Kannur district was handed over to the Chief Minister and Larger Education Minister R Bindu made the inaugural announcement. Kannur University Vice Chancellor Prof. Gopinath Ravindran delivered the introductory speech and outstanding journalist N Ram delivered the keynote speech. Ramachandran Kadnapally MLA, Prabir Purkayastha, Sumangala Damodaran, Dr. Prabjot Kaur, State Library Council Secretary VK Madhu, Dr. KP Vijayakumar and Block Panchayat Affiliation Secretary CM Krishnan spoke. General Convenor TK Govindan welcomed and PK Vijayan gave vote of thanks. Pushpavati sang the welcome music at Poipadam. Educational classes had been held at numerous venues within the Thavakara campus of the University. The night cultural program was inaugurated by Kaitapram Damodaran Namboothiri.
