Infosys Award for Social Sciences to Malayali; The award amount is Rs 84 lakhs

A Malayalee is among the many six who’ve been awarded the Infosys Prize, which features a gold medal and one lakh {dollars} (Rs. 84 lakhs). UK Edinburgh University Lecturer and Historian Mahmood Kooria native of Perinthalmanna Panangangara has been awarded in Social Science – Humanities class. The award is for the research of Islamic maritime relations specializing in the early historical past of Kerala. Kooria studied the impression of Islamic legal guidelines on socio-economic and cultural areas within the coastal areas of the Indian Ocean.

The Science Basis of Infosys instituted the award for researchers below forty years of age. Others who gained the award are Neena Gupta, Vedika Khemani, Shyam Gollakotta, Siddesh Kamath and Arun Chandrasekhar.
