League in turmoil over Tirurangadi seat; ‘Don’t tie someone you don’t want on your head’

Malappuram> Riots in Muslim League after candidate announcement. State General Secretary KPA Majeed was demanded to be replaced by Tirurangadi constituency committee office bearers. CP Bawa Haji and working committee member Ashraf Kokoor resigned due to lack of seats. In Vattamkulam panchayath, two league ward members resigned from the leadership.

After the announcement of the candidate, dramatic scenes took place in many places. League leaders and activists in Tirurangadi constituency, who reached Panakatte on Saturday morning, staged a protest. He met state president Hyder Ali Shihab Thangal and district president Sadiqali Thangal and demanded that Majeed be removed. He also warned that if no decision is taken by Sunday, tough action will be taken.

Activists want Tirurangadi to field a candidate who is not wanted by anyone. When the district president, Sadiqali, came to see them in person, they became emotional. ” I came here with a broken chest. The candidate must be changed. Should all activists be disliked by the party for one person? We are all firmly in the league. Many are booth officials. It is not possible to go to the booth, ” the activists said.

Sadiqali reacted harshly to the demand of the activists. He made it clear that the decision would not be reconsidered. Activists said they would take tough action if Majeed was not replaced. The party will wait for a decision until Sunday evening. After that, further action will be taken. They also demanded the nomination of PMA Salam from Thiruvananthapuram.

Performance for Bawa Haji

League workers protest in Manor, Edappal, against the denial of a seat to state vice-president CP Bawa Haji. Activists said the protest would spread to various parts of the Thavanur constituency. There are indications that Bawa Haji, who was about to resign from the party, was called to Panakkad.

Ashraf Kokoor to be free

Ashraf Kokoor, Member of the State Working Committee and District Vice President of the League, who did not get a seat. The move is to become an independent candidate in Ponnani in protest of the leadership’s betrayal.

Problem in Tanur too

The protest is even stronger than the detention of PK Feroz in Tanur. The protest is over the nomination of a person from outside the constituency. Those who were tied up are of the opinion that there is a section.
