Madras HC dismisses PIL against wearing masks, litigant lawyer fined

Madras Excessive Courtroom on Thursday dismissed a Public Curiosity Litigation (PIL) filed by a lawyer towards the state authorities over its insistence on sporting masks.
CHENNAI: Madras Excessive Courtroom on Thursday dismissed a Public Curiosity Litigation (PIL) filed by a lawyer towards the state authorities over its insistence on sporting masks.

Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice N. Mala handed the orders on the petition filed by Advocate SV Ramamurthy who claimed that sporting masks had adversarial results and that individuals weren’t capable of inhale oxygen correctly.

The petitioner, in his Public Curiosity Litigation, had challenged a Tamil Nadu authorities order issued by the state well being division on January 12 and one other order issued by the Higher Chennai Company on July 4 for imposing a high quality of Rs 500 for individuals who didn’t put on masks.

The courtroom dismissed the petition and imposed prices of Rs 10,000 on the litigant.
