
Pune | A landslide occurred on a street resulting in Pratapgarh Fort in western Maharashtra’s Satara district on Wednesday following heavy rains. An official gave this info. There was no report of any casualty and nobody was trapped below the particles, stated Sanjay Sonawane, government engineer of the Public Works Division. He stated that the incident befell within the early hours on the principle district street (No-17), about 140 km from Pune and 200 km from Mumbai, which ends up in Pratapgarh.
Sonawane stated, “There was a minor incident of landslide after a portion of the hill collapsed on the street resulting in Pratapgarh Fort. After getting the knowledge, our crew reached the spot and cleared the particles from the street. Western Maharashtra district has been witnessing steady torrential rains for the previous few days. The well-known Mahabaleshwar hill station of Satara district obtained heavy rains on Tuesday. A district official stated that 197 mm of rain was recorded until 8 am on Wednesday.
