Mamta condoles the death of Samar ‘Badru’ Banerjee.

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday expressed deep grief over the demise of former Indian soccer workforce captain Samar ‘Badru’ Banerjee. Mamta expressed her condolences to the bereaved members of the family and the Olympian’s innumerable followers. Mamta tweeted, ‘Saddened by the demise of well-known footballer and excellent participant Samar Banerjee. The Authorities of West Bengal honored him with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016-17. I specific my deepest condolences to his household and followers. He’ll proceed to be an inspiration to the individuals.
Banerjee, who led the workforce throughout the nation’s historic fourth-place end on the Melbourne 1956 Olympics, died right here early Saturday after a protracted sickness. He was 92 years previous. He has a daughter-in-law in Banerjee’s household. Affectionately often called ‘Badru Da’, Banerjee was affected by illnesses associated to Alzheimer’s, Azotemia and Hypertension.
