Mangaluru blast case: Accused Shariq recovers, police begin questioning


BENGALURU: The police have begun questioning terror suspect Mohammad Shariq in reference to the Mangaluru blast case following his restoration from crucial burn accidents.

Mangaluru metropolis Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar mentioned on Thursday that the police had begun the method of questioning Shariq.

Shariq had suffered greater than 40 per cent burn accidents following the explosion of an improvised explosive machine (IED) inside a stress cooker on November 19 in Kankanady police station limits of Mangaluru metropolis.

Shashikumar mentioned that after the docs declared him match, the sleuths questioned him and recorded his statements on Wednesday. The case is being investigated below the supply of the UAPA Act.

Commissioner Shashikumar said that Mohammad Shariq, who claimed to be Premraj, has two graffiti instances in Mangaluru and he’s additionally wished in a case in Shivamogga. The Mangaluru cooker blast incident befell on November 19 at Naguri area of the coastal city. Soon after the incident, the Karnataka Police Division declared it as an act of terror.
