
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Fee for Ladies on Monday demanded registration of an FIR towards the lads who harassed a girl and tied her to a pole on fees of pickpocketing at a market place in Jowai city of West Jaintia Hills district. A senior official stated that after the lady refused to register an FIR towards the accused, the State Fee for Ladies has appealed to the police to take suo motu motion on this regard.
Meghalaya State Fee for Ladies (MSCW) chairperson Fidalia Toi informed PTI, “We have asked the police to take suo motu cognizance of those involved in the criminal act and register a case.” In a video circulated on social media on May 13, some unidentified males may be seen misbehaving with a girl and tying her to a pole. In accordance with preliminary investigations by the Meghalaya Police, folks did this in an try to show a lesson to the lady who routinely steals. Nobody has been arrested thus far in reference to the incident.
