MMRCL to SC: No tree cutting in Aarey, only some branches & bushes removed

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing MMRCL, submitted that no tree reducing was happening within the space, and after the established order order was handed by the highest court docket in 2019, no tree was minimize. Mehta stated, “If public interest litigations are filed with misleading into it, it will leave a bad taste.” The bench replied that there are advantages of getting PILs. Through the listening to, justice Lalit identified that he was an amicus curiae within the TN Godavarman Thirumalpad case and requested if there was any battle of curiosity in his listening to of the matter. Mehta stated he doesn’t see any battle.

Justice Lalit stated, “Can’t hear this Aarey matter. I have not heard any forest matter for the past eight years (as SC judge)…”

The bench stated that in view of this stand taken by the MMRCL, there isn’t a requirement for any interim order to be handed within the matter, and took on report MMRCL response that no timber have been minimize for the reason that prime court docket’s establishment order in 2019 The matter is scheduled for additional listening to subsequent week.
