National education policy should be withdrawn: KSTA

The KSTA State Conference passed a resolution calling on the Central Government to withdraw the National Education Policy – 2020, which aims at communalisation, commercialization and centralization of education.

The Central Government has completely ignored the suggestions made by students, faculty, intellectuals and teachers on the draft policy. The opinions of the states were also not respected. There was no need to hastily approve the policy as education would affect everyone.

The policy was quickly approved by the Center in the conviction that students could not stage street protests when schools were closed in Kovil.

Students and teachers should raise a strong agitation to correct the distorted policy implemented by the Sangh Parivar agenda that education should be possible only for the elite.

The policy of imposing Sanskrit and instilling superstition in the curriculum is not conducive to modern education. The resolution called for the withdrawal of a policy that challenges the unity and integrity of the country.

The discussion on the reports began on the first day of the delegate meeting. First day Lashina (Kannur), CK Baby (Thrissur), PN Deepa (Wayanad), Binu Abraham (Kottayam), C Jyothikumar (Alappuzha), VR Rajesh (Kollam), KV Komalavalli (Malappuram), PK Jitesh (Kozhikode‌) also participated in the discussion.
