Shipping to China via Bangladesh
Kolkata : There have been many cases of hair smuggling in border areas these days. According to BSF sources, hair is being smuggled from Bangladesh along the Indian border to make wigs and beauty products etc. not only in China but in 26 countries. After trafficking in Bangladesh, these hairs are exported from China, UAE, Malaysia, etc. to a total of 26 countries, most of which are exported to China. The incidents of hair trafficking have increased significantly in the area of responsibility of Krishnanagar, the regional headquarters of the Border Security Force. A total of 215 kg of hair have been seized in various incidents since January 2021 in the border area of Nadia district.
After all, why is smuggling from Bengal
These hairs are smuggled into Bangladesh from various religious places in the country, from small to large barber shops and village gulis, by bundling them after cleaning them. In recent times, there are many hair processing companies in the border districts of Bangladesh, Chuvadanga, Kustia, Memansih, etc., in which the cleaning process is done by domestic women in the villages of Bangladesh, which also reduces the cost of processing. About 1 lakh people of these districts are employed in this work. Due to the low demand for hair wigs in India and the easy availability of raw hair, buying and selling hair at cheaper prices is also a big reason behind the trend of smugglers.
Border Security Force increased surveillance
The Border Security Force has caught a total of 4 people in 13 different incidents and seized 225 kg of human hair. The information received from these captured smugglers and their own sources of the Border Security Force is shared with other allies like Police, Custom, Narcotic Control Unit etc. and their help would help the Border Security Force to stop this kind of smuggling. is.
