Vidisha Maitra, First Secretary in India’s United Nations Mission, advised the General Meeting on Tuesday:- "We have seen today another attempt by the Pakistan delegation to take advantage of a UN forum for hate speech against India, even as it continues to promote one. A ‘culture of violence’ at home and its borders."
"A culture of peace is not merely an intangible value or principle that should be discussed and celebrated at conferences, but needs to be actively built into global relations between and among member states," he stated.
"We have seen today another attempt by the Pakistan delegation to take advantage of the UN forum for hate speech against India, even as it is promoting a ‘culture of violence’ at home and on its borders. We reject and condemn all such attempts," she added. Maitra additional stated that there is no such thing as a doubt that terrorism, which is an expression of intolerance and violence, is antithetical to all religions and cultures. "The world should be concerned about the terrorists who use religion to justify these acts and those who support them in this quest."
