Prayagraj: The Allahabad Excessive Courtroom has dismissed a writ petition filed in opposition to a proposal to take away a Shahi Masjid positioned on GT Street in Saidabad in Prayagraj district. This petition was filed on behalf of Intejamiya Committee of Shahi Masjid, Saidabad on the bottom that this development (Shahi Masjid) has been located for a very long time, like earlier than independence.
Dismissing the petition, a bench of Justice Sunita Agrawal and Justice Om Prakash Shukla mentioned, “As per the information given in writing by the authorities, the construction of Shahi Masjid on State Highway 106 from Prayagraj to Handia is an encroachment on Government land Gata No. 402.” And we’re not ready to cross any order on this.” The counsel for the petitioner wished to attract the eye of the courtroom to the report given by the Income Division which states that the Shahi Masjid was constructed earlier than the independence of the nation.
To this, the courtroom mentioned, “Perview of the said report shows that this report is based on the statements made by the people of that area and no data or facts regarding the existence of the Shahi Masjid were taken into account by the officer.” The courtroom, in its order handed on August 16, mentioned, “The option is open to the petitioner to approach the trial court and file a civil suit for claim in respect of the land on which the Shahi Masjid is situated.”
