Political turmoil in Maharashtra has intensified after Raghuram Rajan arrived to meet Uddhav Thackeray.
Mumbai: Famous economist and former Reserve Financial institution of India Governor Raghuram Rajan met former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at his residence late on Tuesday evening, inflicting a stir within the political circles of the state.
The assembly, described as a “courtesy call”, sparked intense political hypothesis, though Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders and different Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) senior leaders remained tight-lipped about it.
Rajan, 60, was warmly welcomed by Uddhav, spouse Rashmi and their youngsters, Yuva Sena chief and Worli MLA Aditya apart from environmentalist Tejas with a bouquet of flowers on the household dwelling 'Matoshree' in Bandra East.
Party officers claimed that problems with mutual curiosity have been mentioned within the assembly held in a cordial ambiance, though particulars weren’t revealed.
Rajan was appointed because the twenty third RBI Governor in September 2013 by the earlier UPA authorities of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
His tenure was until September 2016 and he was then succeeded by Urjit Patel, who was appointed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's NDA authorities.
