Protested against pay cuts; Revenge of Amrita Vidyalaya for deporting teachers

Kannur> Amritavidyalaya management relocates teachers to remote areas in the wake of extreme Kovid fear Ten teachers were transferred without even considering the lockdown. All the nine were deported to Tamil Nadu.

VS Satyabhama of Lokamaleswaram Amrita Vidyalaya, Kodungallur was shifted to Rameshwaram and Sukanya of Edappally Vidyalaya was shifted to Tirunelveli. Sajini Kallayi of Koothuparamba Vidyalaya was shifted to Tirunelveli and C Sajitha to Rameshwaram. Nisha Palleri of Tanur Amritavidyalaya has been posted in Thoothukudi and RS Remya in Tirupur.

SR Nisha of Vadakara Vidyalaya was shifted to Nagapattinam, AS Style of Wayanad Pulpally Vidyalaya to Chennai and KS Soumya to Ramanathapuram. In Kerala, only EM Sreepa of Vadakara Vidyalaya has been appointed. They were shifted to Karunagapally, Kollam.

The teachers were protesting against the non-payment of salaries in Kovid’s hideout. Even those who have been working part-time for 15 years get a monthly salary of Rs 12,000. Forty per cent of this has been reduced since last March. Even during the Onam season, only 50 per cent of the salary was paid.

This exploitation was done without regard to conducting online classes. The teachers took legal action against this. Management was then forced to pay the full salary in March and April. In retaliation, they were relocated to faraway places on the grounds that there would be no posts due to the shortage of children. He was ordered to be released on June 17 and take charge of his new location before June 9.
