Ratan Tata, honorary chairman of Tata Group, who was awarded Padma Vibhushan, died in a hospital in Mumbai late on Wednesday evening. His final rites had been carried out with full state honors at a crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday night.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday expressed grief over the demise of well-known industrialist Ratan Tata, saying that he gave new heights to the Indian business and the nation will all the time miss him. He mentioned that the unprecedented instance set by Ratan Tata ji will proceed to encourage for hundreds of years.

Priyanka Gandhi posted on 'X', “Shri Ratan Tata ji gave new heights to Indian industry with his tireless hard work and progressive approach. The unprecedented example set by Shri Ratan Tata ji in the field of public welfare and service to humanity will continue to inspire for centuries.'' He said, ''The country will always miss him. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Shri Ratan Tata ji. May God give him a place at his feet. Om Shanti.”

Ratan Tata, honorary chairman of Tata Group, who was awarded Padma Vibhushan, died in a hospital in Mumbai late on Wednesday night. He was 86 years old. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for the last few days. On Wednesday his health suddenly deteriorated. After this he died late at night.

Ratan Tata's final rites had been carried out with full state honors at a crematorium in central Mumbai on Thursday night. Mumbai Police paid tribute and guard of honor to him. Tata's relations together with his half-brother Noel Tata and prime officers together with Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran had been current on the crematorium in Worli. A non secular chief current on the crematorium mentioned that the final rites had been carried out as per Parsi custom. He mentioned that after the final rites, rituals can be carried out for 3 days on the late industrialist's bungalow in Colaba, South Mumbai.
