RBI kept the repo rate at 6.5 percent

Chennai: Not assembly the expectations of senior economists, the Financial Coverage Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Financial institution of India (RBI) has saved the repo charge at 6.50 %.

Repo charge is the speed at which RBI lends to industrial banks.

Asserting the MPC's majority choice, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday stated the repo charge has been saved at 6.5 per cent.

In consequence, the standing deposit charge (SDF) will probably be 6.25 per cent, and the marginal standing facility and financial institution charge will probably be 6.75 per cent, Das stated.

The MPC assembly was held on 3-5 April.
