LUCKNOW: Dr Raj Kumar Vishwakarma would be the new Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh after the retirement of DS Chauhan on Friday.
He has been made the appearing Director General of Police.
Chauhan, who was holding the extra cost of DGP for the final 11 months, retired on March 31. He was an IPS officer of 1988 batch.
4 different officers of the 1988 batch had been within the race for the put up of DGP.
Amongst these, Vijay Kumar’s retirement is in January 2024, Anand Kumar will retire in April 2024, Anil Kumar Agarwal is presently on central deputation and can retire in April whereas Vishwakarma retires in May 2023.
