New Delhi. The Home Ministry on Wednesday clarified that flats in Delhi won’t be given to Rohingyas dwelling illegally within the capital and it has not given any directions on this regard.

In a press release, the ministry stated that it’s being reported in a bit of the media that Rohingya neighborhood individuals will likely be given flats constructed for the economically weaker sections at Bakkarwala within the capital.

In actual fact, the controversy arose after a tweet by Union City Affairs and Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri that Rohingyas can be shifted to a flat meant for the economically weaker sections in Bakkarwala.

After this, the Ministry of Home Affairs clarified that the federal government has not given any directions to anybody on this regard. The ministry stated that the Delhi authorities had proposed to relocate the Rohingya neighborhood to the brand new place, whereas the Union Home Ministry had requested the Delhi authorities to make sure that the Rohingyas have been shifted to their present place at Kanchan Kunj, Madanpur Khadar. to be stored in the identical place because the matter has been taken up by the Ministry of Exterior Affairs with the federal government of the nation involved to ship them again to their nation.
