
Sabarimala: The Mandala-Makaravilakku pageant on the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple ended, following which the temple was formally closed on Monday morning. A launch issued by Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) officers on Monday stated numerous devotees participated within the 2024-25 pilgrimage. Throughout this era, about 53 lakh devotees got here to Sabarimala. The temple was closed at 6.30 am after Trikettnal Rajaraja Varma, a consultant of the Pandalam royal household, had darshan, the discharge stated.
Earlier the temple was opened at 5 within the morning and the day began with Ganapathy Homam within the East Mandapam. Later, Melashanti Arun Kumar Namboodiri carried out Vibhutiyabhishekam ritual on the idol of Ayyappa, garlanded him with a Rudraksh garland and positioned a yoga stick in his hand, based on the discharge. After the recitation of 'Harivarasanam' Melashanti extinguished the temple lamps and formally closed the sanctum sanctorum. The keys of the temple had been handed over to a member of the royal household, the discharge stated. After descending the 18 sacred steps, the normal ceremony was accomplished and the royal member of the family handed over the important thing chain to Sabarimala administrative officer Biju V Nath, it stated. Throughout this, representatives of Devaswom and Melashanti had been current. After this the royal consultant and his entourage left for Pandalam Palace. The Thiruvabharanam Yatra will attain Pandalam on January 23, the discharge stated.
